Uni-Bio Science Group Reports Revenue Decline As Biopharmaceutical Pipeline Advances

· Nasdaq Market Structure

(RTTNews) - Uni-Bio Science Group Limited (0690.HK), reported unaudited interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2026, highlighting lower revenue and profit, continued investment in research and development and progress across its biopharmaceutical and regenerative medicine pipeline.

Revenue declined to approximately HK$273.8 million from HK$310.2 million in the prior-year period.

The Profit for the period decreased 59.0% to approximately HK$31.2 million from HK$76.0 million a year earlier.

The company said the financial performance reflected a strategic transitional phase, including the impact of volume-based procurement price reductions and VAT-related adjustments, while it continued investing in pipeline development, commercialization and international expansion.

Revenue for the first half of 2026 was approximately HK$273.8 million, compared with HK$310.2 million in the same period of 2025.

Gross profit declined to approximately HK$222.7 million from HK$254.1 million, while gross profit margin remained broadly stable at 81.3%, compared with 81.9% a year earlier.

Profit before taxation decreased to approximately HK$37.3 million from HK$78.6 million, while EBITDA declined to HK$53.5 million from HK$92.1 million.

Research and development expenses, including the capitalized portion, increased to approximately HK$21.5 million from HK$13.6 million, representing continued investment in the company's pipeline and future product launches.

General and administrative expenses increased approximately 10% to HK$33.2 million, primarily reflecting higher taxes and surcharges following the latest VAT policy for biologics, as well as increased administrative expenses at the Dongguan production base.

The company reported profit for the period of approximately HK$31.2 million, compared with HK$76.0 million a year earlier.

Bogutai, the company's teriparatide product, ranked second in overall market share and first in the retail channel among teriparatide products in China as of the first quarter of 2026.

Nationwide sales surpassed those of the originator brand within approximately two years of commercial launch.

Uni-Bio is also actively preparing for a U.S. FDA submission and expects potential approval in 2027, which could make Bogutai its first product to achieve overseas commercialization.

The company also continued advancing its BMP-2 regenerative medicine program, which remains in the preclinical and formulation development stage, using its proprietary ECO-KSFA platform.

During the period, Uni-Bio completed the pilot-scale manufacturing process for the BMP-2 drug substance and initiated development of a sustained-release gel formulation.

Meanwhile, its next-generation generic antifungal drug, isavuconazonium sulfate capsules, completed all supplementary studies required by regulators.

The company is preparing to submit the corresponding documentation to China's Center for Drug Evaluation in the second half of 2026 and has established a dedicated production line and strategic API supply partnerships to support future commercialization.

Despite the decline in earnings, Uni-Bio maintained positive operating cash flow of approximately HK$11.4 million during the first half of 2026.

Total equity increased to approximately HK$448.7 million as of June 30, 2026, from HK$413.2 million at the end of 2025.

The company's debt-to-equity ratio improved to 34.9% from 40.3%, while its debt-to-asset ratio declined to 25.9% from 28.7%, strengthening its financial position for future R&D investment and commercialization initiatives.

Looking ahead, Uni-Bio expects R&D investment to increase further, while remaining disciplined, as several pipeline programs enter more intensive stages of development.

The company said it remains focused on shifting its portfolio toward higher-margin biopharmaceutical products, advancing its development pipeline and expanding international market access to support long-term growth.

0690.HK has traded between $0.049 and $0.167 over the last year. The stock closed Wednesday' s trade at $0.0692, up 1.64%.
