Eurozone Q2 GDP growth remains at 0.4%, as flash data showed

According to Eurostat, the Eurozone Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth in the second quarter this year remains at 0.4%, as shown by the preliminary data released on July 30.

On an annualized basis, the Q2 GDP growth remained in line with flash estimates at 1%.

Market Reaction

No major reaction is seen in the Euro (EUR), following the Eurozone Q2 revised GDP data release. As of writing, EUR/USD trades 0.22% higher to near 1.1555 due to weakness in the US Dollar (USD).

Gross Domestic Product s.a. (QoQ)

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP), released by Eurostat on a quarterly basis, is a measure of the total value of all goods and services produced in the Eurozone during a certain period of time. The GDP and its main aggregates are among the most significant indicators of the state of any economy. The QoQ reading compares economic activity in the reference quarter to the previous quarter. Generally, a rise in this indicator is bullish for the Euro (EUR), while a low reading is seen as bearish.
