Putin Promised Kim Jong Un to Strengthen the Partnership Between Russia and North Korea

Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a telegram to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un congratulating him on the 78th anniversary of the republic’s founding. In it, he pledged to strengthen the partnership between Moscow and Pyongyang.

In his message, Vladimir Putin emphasized that relations between the two countries are built on the principles of friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual assistance. He also noted North Korea’s achievements in the socioeconomic sphere and the strengthening of its position on the international stage.

“I have no doubt that we will continue to work closely together to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between our countries,” the message stated (as quoted by KCNA).

According to Mr. Putin, further strengthening these ties is fully in the interests of the peoples of both countries and also contributes to ensuring regional security and the formation of a “just multipolar world order.”
